Opener Tamim Iqbal’s blistering 61 from 53 balls and quick 28 off 20 by Imrul Kayes gave visiting Bangladesh a consolation six-wicket victory over Zimbabwe in the fourth one-dayer of the five-match ODI series at the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo on Friday.
Kayes blasted three boundaries and two sixes during his 28-run innings while Tamim played nine eye-catching boundaries during his 61-run innings.
Skipper Shakib Al Hasan 49 (47) and Shuvagoto Hom 35 (40) were unbeaten at the last moment of the innings.
Zimbabwe bowlers Chris Mpofu and Prosper Utseya, Kyle Jarvis and Ray Price captured one wicket each.
Earlier, the hosts, who have already clinched the five-match series with just two match remaining, were bundled for only 199 runs in 48.2 overs after their skipper and opening batsman knocked a brilliant century of 106 (137).
Bangladeshi bowlers Rubel Hossain captured four wickets while Shafiul Islam grabbed two wickets and Abdur Razzak, Shakaib Al Hasan and Mahmudullah took one wicket each.
Earlier in the morning, Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan won the toss for the second time on this tour and had no hesitation in opting to field first.
Zimbabwe beat Bangladesh by seven wickets in the first ODI on August 14 and by four wickets in the second ODI on August 12 and in the third ODI by five runs on August 16.
The Tigers travelled to Zimbabwe on July 27 to start their Test and ODI tour. The final match of the series will take place on August 21.
